Shoes!

Masterbedroom and bedroom behind have the same size closets so we opened up one side of the closet to create a walk in in the master.

Getting the outside done while the weather is still good.

Before- Red and white peeling deck

After- Painted same colour as the siding on the house

........a few more.

After- Ready to move toilet over and add a shower.

Before- Ensuite

Got rid of the storm door, painted the door red and the trim and belly band black,  new door handle and dead bolt.  Replaced big white wood numbers with brushed nickel numbers, traded the old rusty mailbox for this new larger mare traditional one.  Ripped out the over grown garden and bricks,  planted some new stuff but didn't have the heart to get rid of the Charlie Brown Christmas tree so it just got a good pruning!

After- ready to move toilet over and add a tile shower.

Finally took some new photos!

Busy, busy, busy!

Lots of changes.  Lisa and the kids came over and Lisa gave me a lesson in pruning.  The Cherry tree looks WAY BETTER!  If that wasn't enough, they came back the next day and landscaped the front yard!  Thanks Lise, it looks great and was nice having company!
Jeff and I painted the exterior trim black, which looked very purple at first.  I was more than a little concerned but it darkened up to a warm black that looks really good with the sundered tomato front door.  Also got rid of the mis matched handle and dead bolt set (1 brass the other chrome) and replaced it with a brushed nickel handle with rectangle mounts to match the panels in the door.
Jeffs been busily framing out the laundry room, getting the ensuite ready to be re configured and working with Chris (a friend) on the plumbing.
Lots more to do!
The boys get back tomorrow so I'm thinking we will tag team the deck as the weather is nice and they love to paint.  Yes, it will be messy! :)

August 15th, Monday

Today we met a carpet layer and tile setter to get some more prices.  This carpet layer was the cheapest so far and I'm considering having the tile guy tile the shower in the ensuite instead of buying a full shower as it's difficult to find one in a moderate price range to fit the space we have to work with.  We'll see what makes more sense.

Sunday, August 14

We had a full weekend of work at the house.  Jeff framed the downstairs bathroom, started framing in the laundry room and did a little plumbing and some electrical for good measure.

I got some colour on the downstairs family room walls and scraped the deck.  When the boys and I stayed with Heather and Chris this summer I fell in love with (Dillard) the colour of Addison's bathroom, so I bought 5 gallons of it and it's going to be the primary colour of the interior of the house.  After painting the  family room, I'm still loving it.
